Six golfers are tied atop the leaderboard at -4 after round one of the WGC Mexico Championship. Phil Mickelson, Ross Fisher, Jon Rahm, Jimmy Walker, Lee Westwood, and Ryan Moore are the leaders. Mickelson, who is still looking for his first victory since the 2013 Open Championship, made six birdies and a pair of bogeys to card his 67. Matt Kuchar, Rory McIlroy, and Sergio Garcia are among the seven golfers one back at -3. McIlroy is playing in his first event since mid January, and got to -3 with an almost 30 foot eagle putt. Last weeks winner, Rickie Fowler, is in a tie for 14th, two strokes back at -2. Two time winner on tour this year Justin Thomas is also -2. Jordan Spieth finished the day at even par, and Dustin Johnson finished -1. Unfortunately, my prediction will not come true this week, as Henrik Stenson withdrew during the first round.
